About Us

As the world’s no 1 producer of tasty tortillas, here at Mission we like to think we know a thing or two about making great meals. It all began over 60 years ago in Mexico when company founder Don Roberto González Barrera revolutionised the tortilla process discovering a new way of baking tortillas and created Gruma Corporation – our parent company. Since then, Mission has grown into one of the world’s most successful food manufacturers launching exciting and delicious products that have become household favourites on every continent.

Q

How do you make a Mission wrap?

A

The flour and all minor ingredients are mixed together and water is added to form a dough. This dough is then weighed into pieces by a machine and shaped to form dough balls. The dough balls are pressed between 2 plates to form the wrap, and then baked in the oven, counted, and stacked into piles ready for packing into our resealable film.

Q

Is a wrap healthy?

A

Mission Deli Wraps have the same fat content as two slices of bread, but are often perceived as the healthier option as they don’t need to be buttered and can be filled with as much healthy filling (such as salad) as you like. They are also seen to be less stodgy and don’t contain yeast so they don’t leave you feeling bloated.

Q

What are the ideal storage conditions for wraps and breads?

A

A cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.

Q

What does the phrase "packaged in a protective atmosphere" mean on a Mission pack?

A
